TEACHING

I've been teaching French, ESL/EFL, and Writing for over 10 years in many different places. I have an MA in French Literature from Arizona State University and my on-going research is educational technology in language learning, which parallels my passions for language, culture, and communication. I currently teach French and Spanish for American Public University.

My teaching and research interests reflect my teaching philosophy: level the playing field in education around the globe and communication will flourish;
only then will we truly share one world.

I've taught ESL/EFL with the Peace Corps in Cheb, Czech Republic, at Charles University in Prague, and in the U.S. at community colleges and at ASU. I'm also a trained private tutor and help finance my travels with private language lessons in language test preparation (academic:English or French), business writing, ESP (English for Special Purposes), conversational French/English in any new location I find myself: Paris, Chicago, Phuket, Washington DC, Girona, Prague, Tempe, New Orleans, Houston, to date.
I also have experience interpreting, translating, and guiding.

I'm always trying to improve in a language myself, currently Spanish, which means I teach with a heartfelt empathy and admiration for the language learner.
I also readily accept conversational "exchange lessons" with native speakers!
